Using Google’s Search-Based Keyword Tool for Niche Research

googlesearchbasedkeywordtool-2009-03-20I’m guessing that if you do any kind of Internet marketing that you’re already familiar with Google’s Search-Based Keyword Tool. If not, you need to be. It’s still in Beta as of this writing on March 20,  2009, but it works great.

I’ve gotten several emails from other marketers, some with videos, on Google’s newish tool that is one that you’ll use regularly if you’re looking for niche markets often

If you haven’t been using the keyword tool, you can go to Google.com/sktool to check it out. It really is very useful, and although I use Micro Niche Finder, and now Market Samurai on a daily basis (well, at least MNF, MS still has some bugs, but it looks very promising, it does certain functions now though), having this Google tool just a click away will surely be extremely helpful.

Actually, with just the resources available for free online, you can easily find just the right (micro) niche for you, and do all the keyword, domain, competiton and affiliate research that is necessary to become profitable in a wisely chosen niche. If you’re really tight on money you can actually start generating an income from the Internet with nothing more than a computer and Internet access.

I guess you’re actually using the Search-Based Tool in reverse, as it looks as though it’s intended to help you find the best keywords for an existing site that you may have. Of course it doesn’t really matter, as long as it shows you the keywords, you can then use the standard Adwords Keyword Tool in conjunction, to find the best little niches that anyone could hope for.

When doing niche research, just click ‘Or see top keywords across all categories’ across the bottom of the screen.

Happy searching.

Here’s how Google describes the Search-Based Keyword Tool – complete with their disclaimer.

What is the Search-Based Keyword Tool ?

The Search-based Keyword Tool generates keyword and landing page ideas highly relevant and specific to your website. In doing so, the tool helps you identify additional advertising opportunities that aren’t currently being used in your AdWords ad campaigns.

Based on your URLs, the Search-based Keyword Tool displays a list of relevant user queries that have occurred on Google.com (and on other Google search properties, such as google.co.uk) with some frequency over the past year; these suggestions can be found under the Keywords tab, in the New keywords related to (site) section. In the Keywords related to your search section, you can see a broad list of keyword ideas that are also relevant, but aren’t necessarily based on your site.

The keywords are also organized by category. Click any category to expand and view its subcategories. If applicable, you’ll also see the keywords organized by brand names.

Important note: We can’t guarantee that these keyword suggestions will improve your campaign performance. Additionally, we reserve the right to disapprove any keywords you add to your campaigns. You’re responsible for the keywords you select and for ensuring that your use of the keywords doesn’t violate any applicable laws or our Terms of Service.

The Only Way to Survive Online During Economic Crisis

Let’s not be pessimistic and indulge in drama, but it is a fact that the whole world is experiencing serious financial problems. Yes, this is not a pleasant thing to experience, but this is a chance to make more money, especially online.

No one is going to brainwash you that making money on the Internet is easy. It has always been tough and now it gets even more difficult. But there is one simple fact that no one is going to deny – if you can get TARGETED traffic to your sites, you will always have money from the Internet, even during the recession times and this crisis economy. This rule worked from the first days of the Internet, and it will work until the last days of the Internet (fingers crosses for ages of life to it).

Yes, this is not a secret, targeted traffic is your key to making huge money. But getting this traffic is a real job. It takes time, efforts and money and – most often – you have to be prepared to wait a long time before you see any results.

From its successful experience, the Free Traffic System team believes that 1st page in major search engines for your niche keywords is the best way to get stable and targeted traffic. During the pre-launch period of 2 months since September 2008 Free Traffic System has helped dozens of people to get 1st page in Google and other search engines. These people – Free Traffic System “success test team” – are simple people with web sites in different niches: health, arts, business management, currency trading, loans, computer games, advertising, spiritual improvement, etc. The proof is published on Free Traffic System’s official page.

For free, these people got their nice positions in search engines, and this increased targeted traffic to their sites. It means they seriously increased the chances to make more sales, get more subscribers, clicks on the banners, signups to lead capturing forms – anything that gives real money in the Internet.

Very soon you are going to see that advertisers will shrink their online budgets. But they will keep paying to the sites with targeted traffic, because this is the only way for the advertisers to survive online.

Now Free Traffic System is officially launched, and you can claim your free membership in it right now. Free is the best price that you can ever find, especially during the times of economic crisis. Join the club where other business owners make real steps to getting targeted traffic from search engines.

Work at Home Mom Ideas

Anyone that’s been around for over five years or so has probably learned there’s always someone there to take from you. Whether it’s your money, property or worse. Unfortunately, the Internet has made it much easier for the thieves to find easy targets. The obvious advice is to check into any program, course, membership site, software, anything that you intend to exchange your credit card information for.

What triggered this post idea was this – I’ve been involved with affiliate marketing for a little over a year now, and I’m now making a little money now. I’ve probably ran across more than my share of products and services that had me running in the opposite direction very quickly. I’ve paid for some items that I have been extremely impressed with. I’ve also paid for a few that were so-so. There have also been a couple that I’ve gotten my money back on (always make sure there is a money back guarantee).

Anyway, I’m a free ember at the Warrior Forum, which I highly recommend. It’s a great place full of a lot of valuable, mostly free information. They also have some paid options if you feel the need.  So, one feature of the Warrior Forum is the WSOs (Warrior Special Offers). I’m not knocking the WSOs in general, but be warned! I recently paid a guy $17 for something that I have to classify as a total ripoff. I won’t say that I didn’t get anything for my money or that the information wasn’t accurate, but for what I received, that was in the form of a ‘report’ of close to fifteen pages if I remember correctly, was trash.

What this guy was selling was something that I had heard soon after coming online in 1989, when I had first thought of putting up my own website. This guy had managed to make what was something that could (should) have been a single sentence idea that you might hear in passing somewhere, into something that he could actually charge people for – sad. It was nothing that anyone should have ever even considered taking money from someone else for. A total ripoff.

I didn’t ask for my money back though. Mainly because the guy had a lot of posts, compared to my relatively few, and quite frankly it wasn’t worth causing a bunch of friction over.

So, if you’re wanting some Work at Home Mom Ideas, by all means have a look at the Warrior Forum. There’s thousands, even thens of thousands of sites out there specifically for work at home moms (WAHMs). Just make sure you know whom you are sending your money to – and for what.

If you don’t have money to invest, look into starting out writing articles. You can either write for other people or even promote your own free sites, maybe Squidoo Lenses, that you can monetize. You can also register.99 .info (for now) domains at GoDaddy, and use the links in articles submitted to EzineArticles. You can then redirect your .info domain to an affiliate site.

If you do have money to invest, I still say SiteSell! has to be the hands-down best way to get started. That’s if you’re wanting to set up your own website. It’s easy enough for a complete beginner, but you can take it to wherever you need to. The forum is one of the best, most supportative on the Internet, and they even offer paid options for just getting help getting started, up to and including actually having someone to do your site for you!

If you have a hobby or something that you’re passionate about – there’s almost certaily a method to monetize it. When you can start start getting your site found in the search engines by people looking for just what you have, the traffic (and potential customers) will be there.

Also, the free videos at the top of this page are about SiteSell!. They’re worth viewing.
