An Affiliate Marketer from the Ground Up

In continuing along the same idea of my previous post (make money online while spending very little), if you haven’t started using Squidoo yet, you need to….now. I can’t stress it enough, Squidoo is a fantastic, totally FREE method of generating traffic, and subsequently sales.

I really didn’t give Squidoo the respect it deserved when I first heard about it. I went to the site, figured out how to creat a lens (just start one, not actually complete it) and then gave up on it. I have no doubt that if I had stuck with it from day one, I’d probably have many, many more affiliate sales to my credit. I lost about eight months or so because I thought it was just another flaky site that wouldn’t amount to much. Was I ever wrong.

There’s actually people earning more, much more on Squidoo alone, than I make working my full-time ‘real’ job. That’s pretty impressive.

One thing that you’re see very often is that many (most ?) people recommend using Squidoo in combination with another site that has a sales page or other products that will generate the sales (or at presales). The fact is, Squidoo alone is enough to rank high (very high) in the search engines, and doesn’t require other sites to support it.

Of course if you write articles and link to your lenses, or link from a blog or other sites, it will help tremendously in generating traffic to your lens.

This blog is obviously about my quest in finding the best methods of making money online, so I had to pass this along.

In a previous post I mentioned that I had just signed up with Wealthy Affiliate (which is great by the way). Well, I was skimming through the ‘recommended products’ area of the forum and ran across a thread that mentioned ‘Pot Pie Girl.’ I don’t know her personally, but I had been to her blog before and saw that she’s always got some good stuff there.

Anyway, to make a long story short, the guy that started the thread had just purchased her One Week Marketing Plan, which I didn’t even know about, and he couldn’t say enough good things about it. I had to read every post after that.

Every single post was singing the praises of her course, so I had to check it out. I ended up buying the course, and I have to say it’s most likely the best money that I’ve spent to date on anything associated with online marketing. I’ve still made more money with the phpBay Pro plugin, but to be fair, I just got the OWM Plan.

I usually never buy any of the ‘make $2,000 a day on autopilot’ type stuff. That doesn’t happen unless you’re Amazon or somebody. Well, for most people anyway.

Back to the One Week Marketing Plan. What I like about it is, it’s very easy to follow, everything in it is free, and it’s actually laid out step by step, day by day. HOWEVER, the absolute best thing about the course (I think) is that Pot Pie Girl (Jennifer Ledbetter) has published an IM chat that she had with a young guy named Nick. He had IM’d her asking for help, and she asked him to be her Guinea Pig…which he agreed to.

This is getting long so I won’t try and cover the whole thing, but in a nutshell, she tells him step by step what to do in order to get a campaign up and going using primarily Squidoo and EzineArticles. There are other sites and steps, but as I mentioned everything is free. Unless of course you register any domains, which would probably be a good idea, but at a couple of bucks for .info’s, that’s peanuts.

If you haven’t heard about the course you have to check it out. I bought it 2 days ago and pretty much have a campaign going, but I’m still waiting for some articles to be approved at EzineArticles.

I have to say there’s really nothing in the course that’s totally new to me, but I had never been able to get a good pan laid out. I’m always jumping from one thing to another. With her plan you know exactly where you are and where you need to go next. I know it will work because it’s all proven stuff. Keywords, backlinks, the stuff that generates traffic, that generates sales…in a nice easy to follow course by Jennifer…and Nick.

Oh, I almost forgot…Nick was very frustrated when he first IM’d Jennifer, he said he’d been trying to make money for, I think it was almost a year, but hadn’t made a dime. Just shortly after starting with Jennifer, he made his first sale…and his second, and then his third, all within 2 weeks!!

I know that’s not a lot of money, but if you haven’t made anything in about a year, and then you get 3 sales as soon as you start a new technique, I think that says a lot about what she’s offering. If you’re more advanced and maybe having some luck with PPC, then this course probably isn’t for you, but if you’re a beginner or even intermediate, then I HIGHLY SUGGEST it.

Anyway, I bought it…and I’m glad I did.

I recently posted about Squidoo. I’ve been actively investigating everything I can about all things Squidoo in the last week or so.

I can’t believe I somewhat overlooked the major possibilities that Squidoo has to offer. I’ve also seen some of the money that many people have been able to generate. I only wish I would have went into it full force several months back when I first took a look at Squidoo, but at least I have been lately.

The point of this post is, besides all of the obvious money making techniques available with Squidoo, one thing that I hadn’t thought of is ‘lens-flipping’. You can probably guess by the name that ‘lens-flipping’ is simply creating a lens (free Squidoo page), and then selling it off.

This is completely okay with Squidoo, there’s nothing underhanded or deceitful, and because of the fact that it’s so easy to create lenses, and there’s no limit to the amount of lenses that you can set up, the money making potential is limitless.

As I mentioned before in my other post, and here, I didn’t start actively using Squidoo until just recently, therefore I’ve only set up (2) lenses at this point, but that was just while I was doing other things, putting only a very small amount of time into it. I can only imagine how many lenses a person could do per day if they were to get into it seriously.

I ran across lenses for sale via the Squidoo site. One of the owners of the site that builds custom lenses for sale, Tiffany Dow, has a great resource available on her techniques for generating money by flipping lenses.

I won’t drag this out any longer, go take a look at her fantastic information. It’s available here. If you’ve got a little extra time on your hands, there’s a lot of money to be made using Squidoo. This is but just one…a very good one though it is.
