A Social Media Website Collection

If you haven’t seen Michelle MacPhearson‘s PDF, ‘SocialMediaDailyBlueprint,’ it’s a good collection of many of the most popular ‘social media’ type sites. There’s not any earth-shattering marketing news, unless maybe you’re very new to the game, and then it will help you generate some traffic for you site. It’s mostly about signing up and getting you links anywhere and every place you can…without spamming that is. It’s a good resource for affiliate marketers to have on hand.

Michelle does seem to be well-informed though, and has done her homework. I downloaded the first edition (free download) a while back, and found a lot of sites that I hadn’t heard of.

The reason that this post comes now is, I just got an auto-generated message from Michelle with notice that the PDF had been updated. I’ve downloaded it and it seems to have updated information, but I really have just skimmed through it at this point.

After reading the first issue, I went through and added some links to the sites that were new to me and I did notice an increase (small) in traffic after a few days, so it’s definitely worth the few minutes to download it. Of course she is a full time marketer and her goal is to make money so the ultimate sell is her other work, 30MinuteBacklinks (not an affiliate link). I haven’t bought that so I can’t comment on whether it’s a good buy or not.

Go get the ‘SocialMediaDailyBlueprint,’ though, it’s worth having all the sites listed in one document.

A Great Addon for the phpBay Pro plugin

If you’ve looked at this blog for over a few seconds you’ll know that I’m a big believer in the phpBay Pro plugin. I guess that’s because I’ve made more money using that plugin with the EPN than I have with all other methods of affiliate marketing combined!!

A regular in the phpBay forums, Alan Lewis, has a great plugin that works with the phpBay Pro plugin. It’s called Search2Post and it’s a marketer’s dream come true. It works as a widget (only) in WordPress and is a search form that allows users to search eBay from your site.

There’s one big difference however…normally after a user searches, and then moves on, his results page(s) is also gone. Search2Post lets you save the search results as a post, or a page, your pick. I think the power of this is obvious. You get content added to your site without doing a thing. Actually, there is a little you can do.

After a search is done, the plugin sends an email to an address that you specify. You can then go into the site and do whatever you want with the results page/post. If it was a specific search to the content on your page, you can just leave it as is or you’ll probably want to change the name to something besides what the plugin named it. If it was some idiot playing around to see what he would get by doing some weird search, you may want to delete it.

I’ve yet to ever get anything besides what would be applicable to my site, so I’ve never had to do anything more than change the title of the page, and I’m done.

The plugin is only $15 and I think it’s a steal at that price.

Alan also has another cool plugin (also $15) that hangs out in your WordPress admin and always shows your current earnings for the month from eBay. If you’ve been using the EPN, you’ll know that this is a big time saver. I usually find myself logging onto eBay to check my stats a couple of times a day. It’s definitely worth having, and also a great bargain at only $15.

Buying All the Get Rich Quick Products

This is very similar to my previous post, but after seeing what 2 individuals have been through, I thought I’d post on it again. I hate to see people throw money away. Especially when they believe they’re going to make a lot of money from it. So, STOP, DON’T DO IT!

I just signed up at Wealthy Affiliate a few weeks ago, and it’s a very good forum. I’ve got a lot of good ideas and information there. This isn’t about WA specifically though.

It’s about buying, or actually not buying every new get-rich-quick product that is released.

There were 2 different individuals on WA in the last few days that posted about how they had made no money online. Actually one guy had made a couple thousand dollars, but he had spent over $11,000 doing it!!

The other guy had made nothing, he said.

The problem is, both had followed the same problematic method…buy every get-rich-quick product that comes out, or at least many of them.

You have to remember, IF IT SOUNDS TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE, IT IS!! It’s not, it ‘probably is’IT IS.

There’s tons of information out there to get started with. Don’t try PPC advertising right away. It takes some experience (and money) to start making money using PPC.

I recommended Pot Pie Girl’s ebook (course) here before, and although there’s not any get-rich-quick scheme included, since they don’t exist, it’s common sense information to lay the foundation to start generating some traffic and making some money.owmplanbox1

It’s basically using article marketing to generate traffic to your money site(s). Pretty much ‘Bum Marketing.’ That term is from Travis Sago’s excellent ‘Bum Marketing Method.’ Head over to Bum Marketing Method to check it out.

Jennifer’s course does go into it more specifically, as far as the sites (Squidoo, EzineArticles, etc.) to use, and an actual step-by-step instructional process to follow day-by-day. It guides you through setting up a campaign in one week. Hence the name, One Week Marketing Plan.

So, if you’re going to spend any money, buy something that won’t promise to make you a fortune overnight. Buy something that provides good, solid, very workable, traffic, and eventually money producing information.

Stay away from anything that promises to make you a lot of money in a very short time. Those guys are just taking advantage of everyone’s fantasy of getting a lot of money quickly, and with almost no work.

Think lottery…now look at the odds.
