Ok, I guess I've got a gripe for this post. Firstly, I will, as I have before here, say I didn't start this blog to make mega bucks. It was started to just kind of keep an online record of my Affiliate Marketing endeavors. Which, according to my grand total of $65 in total revenue generated in over a month now, isn't going so great.
That's ok though, I've got some other sites I'm working on, and I'm not going to give up until I can make a little money. Even if it's not enough to quit my day job, I might be able to bring in enough to help pay some bills.
My gripe though, isn't about me, or my income. I do have enough there to fill a book however. It's about all the blogs I see, by the big guys, the names you see all over the Internet. I won't name names, even though I doubt it would matter. I don't expect any of those guys would ever read this. Anyway, I'm guilty, like many of you, of wasting more than my share of time reading blogs that are basically nothing!! I mean there's nothing there than a bunch of ads and a post, many times by a 'guest blogger', saying a bunch of nothing often times. When they are good, informative post, they're usually about the bigger news items that I've already heard about from another source or five.
I don't pretend, or advertise to have all your answers here (obviously). I don't put myself out there as an expert that can show you how to get rich. I do what I do, and that's just post about what I'm trying as far as affiliate marketing. Obviously I don't have the right formula(s) for making money yet, so I can assure you I'm not going to advertise that I do.
One guy, that happens to have one of the most popular blogs on the Internet, does have lots of useful stuff on his site. However, I've found information as good or better elsewhere. I do check out his site from time to time, mainly because it's so popular. You probably know whom I talking about, his tagline is, 'I make money online, by telling people how to make money online'. Well, maybe it's just me, but that comes off a little empty or something. It's somewhat like the addage, 'Those that can, do....those that can't, teach'.
Now I know this guy is bringing in the big bucks, there's no denying that, but I guess maybe I'm looking for something a little different, at least as for a blog that I'm going to invest my time into. I would like the money, don't get me wrong, but when you look at that blog, or most of the others that fall into the category I'm speaking of, you'll see that they make the money one way, an ungodly amount of traffic generated. I think most of us could probably live comfortably just from the AdSense income those sites generate.
I guess I come off as being jealous, shoot, maybe I am. However, jealous or not, I'm going to try and spend my time a little more wisely when I spend so many hours a day online. I know people do their commerical ventures to make money, I don't have a problem with that. I do think in the future that I'll try to seek out those that have a quality product that can help me make my share of the money, instead of the guys (and ladies), that do nothing more than make even more money telling you about how much money they're making.
Just my 1.5 cents...with inflation and all...Thanks for Reading
Jeff
