Watch With Whom You Do Business
Posted by: Jeff in Miscellaneous, tags: affiliate marketing, clickbooth lawsuit, jon fisher, wickedfire lawsuitI just thought this topic deserved a mention here as a precaution more than entertainment. Although it is kind of funny, because if it pans out the way I think it will, you'll see the demise of an individual, and his company, that is pretty well hated by many, finally go away.
I don't pretend to know the specifics here, and I haven't been screwed by the company in question (ClickBooth), but, ALLEGEDLY many people have.
The events unfolding are in the form of a lawsuit filed by John Lemp and his company, IntegraClick, the parent company of ClickBooth. He/they are suing Jon Fisher, a top-notch Affiliate Marketer and the owner of the WickedFire forum for Affiliate Marketers, for some posts on the forum perceived to be negative. You can read the thread here to see how the WickedFire community is receiving this. It's quite obvious that Jon has no intention of backing down, and after all the dust settles, I think it's going to wind up being a good thing for Jon Fisher, WickedFire.com, and the entire Affiliate Marketing industry as a whole. That's just my opinion though.
If the complaints that I've only heard of are valid, then ClickBooth deserves every negative comment posted on WickedFire, and all the other places around the Internet. You screw enough people enough times, and it eventually catches up with you.
Again, I must say that I know nothing more than what you can read on WickedFire. However, I have been a member there for a couple of months, and from what little I know about Jon Fisher, he's a stand up kind of guy, will tell you exactly how it is, and is not one to try to screw over...especially when he's right.
Evidently this suit was just filed in the last couple of weeks or so, as of this writing, therefore it'll be some time before it gets settled, but I can't wait to see the outcome. If ClickBooth has handled their business the way many Affiliates have been reporting, then I believe Mr. John Lemp just made (probably) his worst business decision yet.
